About Brenda
Each of us was created to walk with God in the Garden, in intimate relationship with Him. Our hearts long for that intimacy for which we were made, and however elusive it may sometimes seem, our Lord will fulfill that desire of our heart if we let Him.
In sharing the authentic witness of my own journey with our Lord, I invite readers to say yes to an adventure of going deeper in faith and trust in God.
Our Lord so tenderly satisfies the longing that He Himself stirs in our hearts, asking that we trust Him with everything and walk closely with Him, learning to hear His voice so that we can respond and follow wherever He leads us.
He calls us to an intimate life of faith and prayer where we find Him waiting within, where we include Him in every part of our lives, finding our peace and joy in Him in all circumstances.
I have often said that I have been seeking God my whole life but for most of it knew Him only in my head, not in my heart.
As a little girl, a cradle-Catholic who grew up near Pittsburgh, I thought God was way up in heaven, a place far, far away from me. I believed I would see Him in heaven when I died, but until then, I was here while He was there. And I believed that God had a plan for my life, a path I was supposed to take, but my idea of that was something like the yellow brick road in the Wizard of Oz. I desperately feared stepping off of that path, of making a mistake and messing up God’s plan for my life.
Through Unbound Ministry and other healing prayer, Our Lord revealed the root of the fear and also the lies from which I had been living, replacing them with the truth of who He says I am, a beloved child of God. After discernment, I completed training with Heart of the Father Ministries and also the local Unbound Ministry Team, and I now help lead others to recognize the lies and fears from which they have also lived so that they too come to know freedom in Christ through the truth of the Gospel. Led by the Holy Spirit, I write witnesses and talks to share the story of my journey, of walking in deeper freedom to follow Him and to love, and of learning to listen and to recognize His promptings.
My life now given over to God is a beautiful collaboration with the Holy Spirit.
God blessed me with two sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law and one sweet little granddaughter. After being very involved with my children’s school when they were young, I chose to go to back to school as a mom to earn a degree in teaching, and I taught in the public school system for 17 years.
After calling me on pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Our Lady called me out of public education into Catholic education. I now teach the good, the true, and the beautiful within a classical curriculum at a private independent Catholic school. Sharing the love of God with my students and witnessing their openness to our Lord and Our Lady brings me great joy!
Our Lord often calls me to meet Him in nature, in my own garden or kayaking in the waters near my family camp. There I can sit in the stillness, letting Him speak to my heart. Spending time in the wonder and awe of nature helps me to come to Him in my littleness surrounded by the magnificence of His creation.
Inspired by the beauty of the garden, I continued my education with landscape design courses so as to create gardens and spaces that invite sacred encounters… because we were created to walk with God in the Garden, in intimacy with our Creator.
